How to work out your life path number

In numerology, your life path number comes from your date of birth. The method used here – the one most numerologists use – reduces the month, the day and the year separately, then adds them:

    1. Month: add its digits until one digit is left (December = 12 → 1 + 2 = 3).
    2. Day: the same (29 → 2 + 9 = 11 → keep 11, see below).
    3. Year: the same (1990 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 1 + 9 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1).
    4. Add the three results and reduce again. That is your life path number.
    Example: born May 15, 1995

    Month 5. Day 15 → 1 + 5 = 6. Year 1995 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 24 → 2 + 4 = 6. Then 5 + 6 + 6 = 17 → 1 + 7 = 8.

    Master numbers 11, 22 and 33

Numerology treats 11, 22 and 33 as “master numbers” and does not reduce them further – at any step. So a birthday on the 29th gives 11, and a total of 22 stays 22. Some numerologists add all the digits of the date in one go instead; that can give a different answer for a few birthdays, so the working above shows each step.
